Ang Lobo Ko ( or My Balloon in english), is a filipino nursery rhyme that my parents and grandparents would sing to me as a child, so I wanted to utilize a child-like style to remind the viewer of their own childhoods.
The song is a lesson in responsibility. It's about a child who spends their money on a balloon and loses it. They spend the rest of the song thinking about how they should've spent their money on something they need, like food, instead of wasting it on the balloon.
I wanted to focus on the theme of loss, and illustrate the journey of my character's acceptance of losing the balloon.
Fun fact! this character's name, Bobong, translates to fool in Tagalog! Designing him has led me to more character driven work.
